I was put on the earth to write songs. I love that that they are concise packages of moments-in-emotional-time, able to jettison us back in history, help us figure out a quandry, or move us to tears. I love the intersection of melody, lyric, rhythm and space, the way language can be stretched and molded to say things that are sometimes unspeakable in any other way.
